Races - Kraytis

Kraytis

Role in Story: Citizens of the Nomad Earth empire

Home world: Krayt

Physical Description:
Lifespan: Standard Years
Height: Males - ft / Females - ft
Weight: Males - ft / Females - ft
Skin: White, Caucasian, Grey, Brown / Feline patterns usually resembling tiger stripes or leopard spots
Hair: Hair similar to humans. Often partially dyed and decorated with trinkets.
Eye: Feline in nature, reflective to light. Green, yellow, orange, red, blue or a combination of these hues.

Sharp canine teeth. Padded paws on the palms of their human-like hands. Most have sharp claws/nails. Males are much more muscular and bulky than females.

Skills: Very good with technology. Specialize in eco-friendly, energy efficient tech. Extremely agile with superior senses than those of humans.

Habits/Mannerisms: Males have a genetic disposition to be territorial versus other kraytis males. This coupled with strange cultural customs almost led their race to impending extinction before NE discovered them. This territorial rivalry causes them to be separated and segregated within the empire to prevent civil disputes. On occasion, this territorial disposition is extended toward members of others species when it involves a female the male kraytis is interested in. Most female kraytis are primarily concerned with increasing personal power and wealth by associating with the proper male and coaxing him to make decisions that benefit her station.

Background: A humanoid species with some feline aspects.  The kraytis are not furry as feline mammals are but possess the padded paw prints on the palms of their human-like hands, sharp canines, reflective eyes, and some have cat-like patterns on their skin akin to tiger stripes or leopard spots.  The kraytis, encountered in the NE Empire's conquests, were fairly quick to align themselves with the empire.  They were a technologically advanced race who were tragically inundated with species endangering cultures.  Had the empire not arrived when it did, the kraytis would have been extinct within a few generations.

Notes:

The Watch (Nomad Earth Empire Organization)

The Watch

The law keepers and enforcers of the Nomad Earth Empire. They provide the council to the Emperor and perform the majority of government functions for the empire.

SUB-ORGANIZATIONS:
The Watch commands the elite Spy/Enforcer group known as the Sentinels of the Watch. Sentinels are each assigned to a separate ship in the great fleet of the Nomad Earth Empire. They are the Witnesses, the law keepers, and are feared even among their own people. Their allegiance belongs strictly to The Watch for whom they provide intelligence and reconnaissance.

PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGY: Blackhole Tech
Sentinels have the use of a portable version of the Blackhole Technology. This technology allows them to store weapons, ammunition, survival gear, and various other supplies in a small black hole to which they have access through a device located at their wrist. The Watch maintains a black hole corridor through which all of it's agents may travel back to the fleet command ship. This corridor leads from wherever the Sentinel is, back to the fleet ship but can only return it's traveler back to it's original destination where a return beacon is in place. The corridor does not allow others to travel from the command ship to the Sentinel's location at a remote destination.

STORY EVENTS/PLOTS:
The heads of the council of The Watch are members of a race of humanoids who were welcomed into the NE empire during the time of the Emperor’s true benevolence. Some of the members of this race were able to shape-shift. The empire was completely unaware of this ability and it wouldn’t have been easily discovered as the small group possessing this power had kept it a secret amongst themselves even from their own people.

Aspiring for power of their own, this “covenant” used their shape-shifting ability to infiltrate The Watch and assassinate the entire council, afterward assuming their roles and their appearance.
